Our first Shabbat Sunday in February just happened to fall on the Super Bowl, a.k.a. the event where refrigerator-sized men run around interrupting the only day I actually watch commercials.
I briefly entertained the idea of looking up which teams were playing in advance, but figured it would be more fun to discover it that day. Kind of like those people who leave their baby’s gender a surprise until birth. Exactly like that, actually.
Make no mistake, this is a family that gets up to eat during the game and rushes back to the sofa for the commercials. But like any good Americans, we love our food. And I was jonesing for an excuse to make the Mozza meatballs and some baby back ribs. Mmmmmmmozza…
Here’s what we made:
- Baby Back Ribs
- Mozza Meatballs
- Prosciutto & Gruyere Pinwheels
- Seven Layer Dip Lite
- Mini ice cream sandwiches – I’ll do a post on these soon, they’re fab
